New Balance managed to shake things up in 2021 by unveiling its limited-edition New Balance 2002R "Protection Pack." The brand followed up the success of that launch by giving other New Balance sneakers the "Protection Pack" treatment, including the New Balance 1906D. The New Balance 1906D Protection Pack Silver Metallic made its way into the world through this concept.
This New Balance 1906D Silver Metallic sneaker features a breathable upper made of mesh and synthetic leather overlays that have worn edges on them. The upper sits on top of a lightweight ABZORB midsole that has ABZORB SBS heel cushioning for added comfort and support. There is also an N-ergy outsole outfitted with a Stability Web to provide even more support in the arch area.
Our sneaker experts like the outside-the-box thinking that was clearly going on when this New Balance shoe came to life. It delivers another fresh take on the "Protection Pack" idea. The New Balance 1906D Protection Pack Silver Metallic was released on November 22, 2023, and retailed for $180.
