The Nike Air Max 90 M. Frank Rudy pays tribute to M. Frank Rudy, also known as Marion Frank Rudy, the aeronautics engineer behind Nike's signature Air Max technology.
The sneaker takes the Air Max 90's recognizable silhouette and applies a mixed construction of leather, suede, mesh, and synthetic material. In addition, the bold colorway of Safety Orange, Summit White, and Sesame makes each texture stand out. The sneaker's Air Max units can be seen through a transparent window in the heel. The date '1990' is printed across the transparent windows to pay homage to the original sneaker. However, one of the most notable features is the Air Max blueprint on the insole. It shows the Air Max's basic design and M. Frank Rudy's signature.
