The Nike Air Max 95 Day of the Dead (2019) pays tribute to Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a Mexican holiday that celebrates loved ones who have passed. This sneaker was part of a 2019 release that offered three new sneakers for the holidays. In particular, the Nike Air Max 95 Day of the Dead (2019) displays a repeating sugar skull pattern reminiscent of the elaborate Dia de los Muertos candies and decorations.
The Nike Air Max 95 Day of the Dead (2019) uses strips of fabric to create a gradient that starts with black at the sole, lightens to dark gray near the midsole, becomes light gray at the upper and turns white at the laces. Dark teal at the bottom of the sole brings out a bluish hue in the various shades of gray. In addition to the sugar skull pattern, the Nike Air Max 95 Day of the Dead (2019) offers a diamond pattern, a splatter pattern and textured leather at the toe.
