The Nike Air Max Tailwind 4 Racer Blue is an athletic shoe featuring a Summit White upper crafted from leather and fabric, accented by vertical stripes in Racer Blue that ombré to black. The Nike Air Max 1 introduction in 1987 provided a gateway for Nike's comfort and performance technology innovations for the following decades.
With the Tailwind 4, initially released in 1999, Nike evolved the Air technology to provide forefoot and heel support in its bubbled midsole. It also introduced the Air Max Plus series' bold upper design, identified by its vertical stripes. The midsole is made of white and features four visible air units. The Nike Swoosh in Racer Blue adorns the outer heel, while Max Air branding appears on the inner heel and tongue.
