The Vans Authentic MoMA Jackson Pollock is a low-top casual shoe designed in collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) as part of a series of special edition sneakers that draw inspiration from the world of art and design.
The shoe's upper is made from canvas material and features a gum rubber outsole with a traction pattern to help improve grip on various surfaces. It showcases an all-over multicolor abstract print that extends to the midsole which takes inspiration from a drip painting by legendary artist Jackson Pollock. Branding details on the Vans Authentic include the signature placement of the logo in its usual placeholders, on the outer side panel and heel.
One of the stand-out features of the Vans Authentic MoMA Jackson Pollock is the fact that it is drawn from one of Jackson Pollock's iconic drip paintings, One: Number 31, 1950. This gives an entirely new meaning to the shoes making them a lot more significant and special. The shoes were first released for retail in November 2020 priced at $85.
