Under normal circumstances, scuffing and scratching up the upper part of a sneaker isn't seen as a good thing. But the Nike Air Max 1 Rub Away White Khaki made it possible for people to personalize their sneakers by using an abrasive cloth on the leather upper.
At first glance, this Nike Air Max 1 looked similar to many of the other AM1s that have been released. It had a solid white upper with a debossed Swoosh on it. It gave the sneaker a very clean overall appearance, and people could keep it that way if they wanted.
But the best part about this sneaker, in our expert opinion at least, was that it came with an abrasive cloth that could be used to wear down the upper and show off a khaki color that sat beneath its surface. It gave the shoe a more weathered look and helped make every single pair unique. The Nike Air Max 1 Rub Away White Khaki was released on December 18, 2020, for a retail price of $180.
