The Nike Air Max 97 sneaker has been a fan favorite for decades now thanks to its full-length Air unit and its unique ripple design that was inspired by bullet trains in Japan. The Nike Air Max 97 Next Nature Black Dark Smoke Grey (Women's), available in women's sizes, takes the OG design of the AM97 and manages to build on it to play up all its best features.
This updated Air Max 97 has a black synthetic upper with black mesh underlays to make the entire shoe black from front to back. It also has the AM97's revolutionary hidden lacing system along with its spongy foam midsole, its durable rubber outsole, and, of course, its full-length Air unit that spans the whole bottom of the shoe.
Our sneaker experts like a lot of the things that Nike did with this particular AM97, but the all-black design helps put it over the top. It highlights the features found in the shoe while also managing to give them a more modern look overall.
