The Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT Flyknit Ekiden is a specialized running shoe released by Nike as part of the Air Zoom collection. It is an upgrade of the Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT which first debuted in 2020, taking inspiration from the Japanese sport of Ekiden, which mainly involves running.
The shoe features an orange color scheme with highlights of black and white. The upper is made from lightweight FlyKnit material while the midsole incorporates Nike’s Zoom foam and a full-length carbon fiber plate to provide cushioning. Branding details on the shoe include the iconic Swoosh on both sides and a small segment on the inside sole, as well as Air Zoom branding on the lateral heel and a small segment on the outside sole.
The Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT Flyknit Ekiden was first made available for retail at the price of $275 on November 29, 2021.
