The New Balance 550 Terracotta is the re-release of a heritage basketball sneaker that first burst onto the scene in 1989.
This low-top sneaker features an upper of layered white leather. The panel extending from the lower eye stays down to the mudguard and then up toward the collar sports perforations to facilitate ventilation and enhance comfort. The iconic side panel "N" is made of puffy white leather. Other hits of branding include an embroidered "550" near the bottom most eyestays, a flying red "NB" on the white leather heel overlay, and red New Balance basketball branding on the tongue. The white cupsole midsole provides cushioning and sports tonal embossed branding. A red rubber outsole is grooved for multidirectional traction.
Our favorite aspects of this sneaker are the upper overlays at the collar and toe cap that give this shoe an added look of distinction. The New Balance 550 Terracotta was released on June 21, 2023, for a retail price of $120.
