The Nike Air Max 2013 Triple Black is an athletic running shoe featuring a black mesh fabric upper, accented by a Swoosh on the sides in black. Shiny Black Air Max branding encases the heel, and the mid- and outsole combination in Black displays the transparent Black visible Air unit, which runs the length of the shoe.
American athletic wear brand Nike has been refining its Air technology since the 1980s, first when it included it in the Air Jordan 1, and later in the Air Max 1, which resolved the design issue of how to make the comfort feature visible. The visible transparent Air unit in the sole altered Nike’s trajectory once more, and by 2013 the Air Max styling became about the possibilities of full-length comfort and visibility.
