The Nike Cortez TXT Jackie Robinson Day is a low top vintage style athletic shoe with a Photon Dust leather upper that presents the Nike Swoosh on the sides in Black with a Metallic Silver outline. The Swoosh coordinates with Black midsole detailing and rear heel tabs that display 4 on the left and 2 on the right, outlined in Gym Red baseball stitching. The Metallic Silver tongue branding and dubrae complete the aesthetic.
American sneaker brand Nike has long been associated with American professional sports legends, and to honor the legacy of Jackie Robinson, the first Black American to play in the MLB for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Nike created a special edition of the throwback style the Cortez. Robinson’s number 42 graces the heel tabs.
