The Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 SD Birch Metropolis is a Super Deluxe iteration of the Onitsuka Tiger’s beloved silhouette. This high-end sneaker is dressed in a subtle colorway that exudes elegance.
This low-riding lifestyle sneaker begins with an upper base of Birch tumbled leather. Birch suede forms a T-toe overlay, the eyestay overlay, the rim around the collar, a heel counter, and the signature serrated strips that cross at the heel. Warm gray suede in a Metropolis shade is used to craft the stripes that of course both vertically and horizontally over the side panel. Birch-colored rubber is used to help reinforce the toecap. A foam midsole in both Birch and rests atop a Birch rubber outsole.
The detail of this sneaker we most enjoy is the fold-over heel flap in Birch suede. It sports Metropolis Tiger branding that locks in the elegant dual colorway of this shoe. The Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 SD Birch Metropolis was released on September 1, 2023, for retail price of $180.
